Step-by-Step Activation Guide

Here is the complete walkthrough for online activation.
  1. Open a secure web browser on your computer or phone.
  2. Go to capitalone.com/activate.
  3. Enter your 16-digit card number in the first field.
  4. Enter the card expiration date (MM/YY).
  5. Enter the 3-digit CVV printed on the back of the card.
  6. Verify your identity when prompted (SSN last 4, ZIP code, or date of birth).
  7. Sign in to your existing Capital One online account, or select Set Up Online Access if you are new.
  8. Review the confirmation details on screen.
  9. Click Activate My Card to complete the process.
